Let’s say the timeframe is 35-ish years in the future. The majority of vehicles, both commercial and privately owned are battery powered. Gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles have been the realm of hobbyists and collectors for a couple of decades.
Kind of like The Race of Gentlemen-types in thirty-five years.
The grid is still around, and Universal Charging Stations™ are all over what was the United States, though many have been vandalized or stripped.
Plus, with most of the population gone, maintenance of the infrastructure has gone to pieces. You’re better off having some kind of solar collectors, even if you can only trickle charge during the day, and drive your boosted EV at night.
Song of the week
This Los Lobos cover of Ay Te Dejo En San Antonio (Santiago Jiménez) is for my Dad, who is currently laid up in the hospital. While he is not necessarily a big fan of songs about Texas, he is a fan of Los Lobos :) Get well, Ken.
