Greetings from Chicago
Currently hosting undisciplined, untrained, racist? thugs with guns and tear gas
I’m having trouble channeling my dispair and rage. Below are a couple of drawings and a few unqualified words.
It’s unclear if they’re even getting paid.
Trigger warning on all of the links below:
My Alderperson, Jessie Fuentes was manhandled and handcuffed by I.C.E. for asking if the agents had a warrant to be in a Humboldt Park hospital.
Folks have been peacefully protesting an unlawful I.C.E. facility in Broadview, Illinois for weeks. They’ve been fired at with pepper balls and tear gas. Some have been tackled, shoved, and detained by men armed with flak vests, helmets, tasers and automatic weapons.
A man was murdered by uniformed, I.C.E. troops, after dropping his kids off at daycare.
A woman was shot after being rammed in her pickup truck by several I.C.E. black SUVs. They’re charging her for harassing I.C.E. The feds’ story has changed several times since this was first reported. They claimed defensive gunfire, claimed she had a gun, claimed that 10 cars rammed and threatened I.C.E. patrols.
I.C.E. agents stormed a lowrise building in South Shore, breaking down doors and arresting residents without cause or due process. Children were zip-tied, residents were arrested wearing pajamas, or nothing at all.
Trump has federalized Illinois national guard troops to “protect” I.C.E. troops. I’m hoping Illinois governor, JB Pritzker persues legal means to stop it as they did in Oregon.
I.C.E. does not adhere to the rule of law. I’m guessing this is on purpose, so Trump can lock down states that he didn’t win through the 2026 elections.
Chicago area residents are fighting back, using peaceful means. Sometimes tossing back a tear gas canister. These I.C.E. snowflakes didn’t like getting made fun of, so they popped a couple of chemical weapons on families and other bystanders.
I’m proud of my city’s resistance and am heartened that community and civic leaders are also on board to fight this.
